About This Spot

La Panza sits quietly on Redcliffe Way, offering a welcome little escape that feels both familiar and quietly special. Step inside, and the rustic charm of its décor invites you to slow down, settle in, and let the hum of a well-loved local Italian restaurant wash over you. The space embraces its heritage with an unpretentious warmth—where stone walls and sunlit window seats overlook the gentle bustle of the street, creating a calm yet vibrant backdrop for a meal.

The pace here encourages savoring the moment rather than rushing through it. Whether you find yourself tucked indoors with views of St Mary’s Church or basking in the sun at the outdoor seating, there’s a subtle slice of Italy threaded through the atmosphere—partly in the bright, welcoming chatter of the staff and partly in the care they show when guiding you through the menu.

La Panza’s kitchen whispers stories through its dishes rather than shouting. The pasta, for example, reveals a mastery that hints at tradition and understanding beyond the expected—firm, balanced, and gratifying with each bite. Meanwhile, small touches like an intensely creamy pistachio tiramisu or tender duck ragu gnocchi bring texture and thoughtful depth to the plate, hinting at a creative heart eager to surprise and delight without excess.

The thoughtful pairing of Italian classics with more inventive preparations creates a rhythm where each course builds effortlessly on the last, inviting diners to lean in, share moments, and appreciate nuance. The wine list, meanwhile, complements this experience quietly but confidently—an invitation to unwind, sip slowly, and savor the company and the setting.

La Panza does not rush to impress with spectacle; instead, it unfolds like a story told over a slow afternoon or an early evening meal—marked by friendly faces, genuine hospitality, and a comforting sense that great care and passion have found a home here.

This place feels a little rustic on first entering - but bear with it. I found staff are super friendly and understood the menu well. Not your typical Italian fare - but on eating you’ll realise that someone in the kitchen really knows what they are doing. Pasta was well cooked with just the right level of bite. A limited desert menu - but the Tiramisu was excellent - i nearly ordered seconds. It all comes reasonably priced . Don’t walk past this place - id recommend you pop in and give it a try . I certainly wasn’t disappointed :-))

This place is incredible, beautiful outdoor seating, indoor seating is also stunning with great views from the window seats (of st Mary's church over the road). The staff are so friendly and accommodating, service is quick and efficient, and all seems happy to work here. I started off with a white wine and bowl of black olives with garlic as I was sat in the sun, I felt like I was back in Italy! Next the calamari, which was possibly the best I've ever had; fresh, melt in the mouth meat, with thin and crispy batter, beautifully seasoned, the sauce was devine, and even the slice of lemon on the side was not messing about. A massive thank you to the team here for a 10/10 experience. I will definitely be back! Special thank you to Sarah, what a Queen!

Early dinner and I think I was the only one there but the food was amazing. Crispy fried potato good and crispy! duck ragu was juicy and a good portion size. Tiramisu with pistachio cream was to die for. The best tiramisu I've ever had and I've had it a lot as it's a favourite.

They make really good pasta! Their amateiciana is nuts but really almost every dish we ordered was good!

Lovely food but waited about 30 minutes before a drinks order was taken Sat outside and staff were friendly but there was a bad smell coming from the outside. Starters, mains and puds tasted lovely and were just the right portion size

Authentic Italian food served by really lovely staff. Freshly made al dente pasta, tomato sauce that’s clearly been cooked for over 12 hours (the proper Italian way) fresh meat and produce - the flavour in the dishes doesn’t lie! Also the oysters oh my god they were divine! Served with the a raspberry vinegar and pickled shallots - one of the best meals I have been for in a long time! Thank you

If we could give the service for than 5 stars, we would. The food was fabulous, it's a good spot with nice outdoor seating and the service was amazing. They made some classic cocktails and even offered some fun off the menu alternatives which were really well done.

Had dinner with friends here, The prawn tagliatelle , octopus, and tomato salad were absolutely delicious – authentic Italian flavors done right! While the portions could be a bit more generous, the exquisite presentation made every bite special. The restaurant has an intimate (though slightly cramped) ambiance that adds to its charm. Perfect for when you want quality over quantity, though ordering multiple dishes to share might be ideal for heartier appetites.
